About the Blaze Fastpitch Organization

The Charlotte Blaze organization was formed in the summer of 2003 with one 10U team.  In 2004 this team performed very well and by 2005 players and families around Charlotte wanted to play for the Blaze.  By 2006 we fielded 8U, (2) 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U teams.  In 2008 we are drawing from an eight county region.  The Charlotte Blaze organization has quickly grown into one of the premier and talented groups of teams and players in the Carolinas.  We accomplished this by focusing on teaching the fundamentals, stressing commitment and challenging our players to respect team work while establishing life qualities for individuals.  We welcome your interest and urge you to find out more about our organization.

The Charlotte Blaze organization has teams in the 8, 10, 12, 14 & 18U age groups and these teams are poised to make a big impact in 2008 playing in fast pitch travel softball tournaments.  These tournaments are held throughout the North & South Carolina region with many at local parks around Charlotte.  The Charlotte Blaze organization holds try outs every year for talented players interested in increasing their abilities, competing against the very best softball competition in the state and willing to commit to the time, travel and expenses required to reach the highest level.  We will post general try out information and dates on this web site but generally, we hold tryouts in early August.  We practice at South Charlotte Middle School fields located @ Hwy 51 (Pineville-Matthews Road) and Strawberry Lane.  We welcome interested parties to contact us for additional information.

Fundraising and sponsorships enable our teams to keep parental expenditures to a minimum.  Each team establishes their own family fees based on their annual budget but traditionally we keep the fees around $300 per family.  An average team budget will differ based on the number of tournaments played but generally each team will spend between $4500 to $8500 each year.  We depend on our sponsors and parental fundraising efforts to make up the difference.  Each family is expected to seek sponsors and to participate in fundraising efforts.  If you would like to sponsor a team, please contact the appropriate coach.

This will be an exciting year for the Blaze. For specific team details, please refer to their team sites and follow the Blaze in 2008.  Again, thank you for your interest.
